This announcement is applicable to customers who:
- Have active Acronis subscriptions purchased from Kaseya.
- Use the Kaseya Cloud Backup (KCB) module to integrate Acronis Cyber Cloud with Kaseya VSA.
Support for Legacy Acronis license types will end on September 30th, 2024. This means that:
- The Kaseya Cloud Backup (KCB) module will no longer be supported. VSA integration will be provided by Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud integration with Kaseya VSA. Please reference the following two documents.
- Kaseya will convert your Legacy Acronis licenses to the new Advanced licensing. This has several benefits for Kaseya Cloud Backup customers:
- You can access and manage the full Acronis product from within VSA.
- You can apply and monitor plans that include all the protection features that Acronis offers from within VSA.
- Backups will continue uninterrupted during this transition, and there are no changes to the Acronis Cyber Cloud functionality you currently use alongside KCB, but it does affect VSA integration:
- The Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud integration with Kaseya VSA is compatible with both Legacy and Advanced license types. While you still have Legacy licensing, you may use the plugin alongside KCB.
- The Kaseya Cloud Backup (KCB) module is only compatible with Legacy licenses. It can no longer be used after the license has been upgraded.
- The Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud integration with Kaseya VSA provides for the following use cases that you currently use KCB for:
- Mapping of VSA Organizations to Acronis customer accounts.
- Manual and automated Acronis client installation and updates.
- Applying and revoking backup plans.
- Monitoring backup and protection status.
- One-click access to Acronis Cyber Cloud portal for recovery operations, configuration of backup plans, and advanced status reporting.
-
Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud integration with Kaseya VSA does not currently support the following use cases:
- Mapping of VSA machine groups to Acronis customer accounts.
- Global mapping of an entire VSA instance to a single Acronis customer account.
- To check if this will affect your migration, go to Cloud Backup > Configuration > Settings > Backup Group Mapping tab. If its set to Global or Machine Group, please click here to request assistance from the Kaseya team.
- This upgrade does not affect your billing or license entitlements.
You must complete the transition from Kaseya Cloud Backup (KCB) to Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud integration with Kaseya VSA before September 30th, 2024, to ensure continued integration between VSA and Acronis Cyber Cloud. Please follow our step-by-step migration guide.
