Question

How do I configure vPro hardware so that it can be detected and managed through Kaseya?

Answer

Before you can manage vPro devices using Kaseya, you must configure the hardware and validate communication and credentials using a web browser from the agent machine you intend to manage them from. This machine must be on the same LAN as the vPro machines.

This Intel document contains the steps for this - http://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-4923

Intel supports a "Small Business" mode, and an "Enterprise Mode." Refer to the Intel Configuration Guide and other related Intel materials for details. For "Small Business" mode, it is wise to use a common user name and password for all machines on a particular network (much like having a common standard for a local administrator account on Windows machines).

Once you have validated vPro/AMT communication and credentials are OK, run a LANwatch with "Enable vPro" checked and the vPro/AMT user name and password. You should then see them listed under the Agent tab > View vPro function, and Remote Ctrl > Power Management.

See Kaseya on-line help and Intel documentation for further details
