How do I troubleshoot KLC/Desktop Access issues on a Mac?

ANSWER


You need to have Admin rights on the Mac to be able to download and install the correct plug-ins as you will be prompted for your admin login credentials during the install.


When you are trying to use Desktop Access/Live Connect on a Mac for the first time you will be prompted to download the liveconnect.dmg file.

 

You need to download and run this file to install the internet plug-ins for Firefox and Safari. You will be prompted to close both Firefox and Safari during the install.

The files loaded are in the location shown below...

 

For Firefox to verify that the plugin is installed go to this URL: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ 
And you should see:



For Safari: Click Help and View Plugins.

 



   * The Relay Plugin is the one to look for.

 

 

UNINSTALLING or CLEARING OUT THE LIVE CONNECT BROWSER CONTROLS
In Finder goto: Macintosh HD -> Library -> Internet Plug-Ins

Drag the npklcrl.bundle to the Trash.
