CAUSE

There is not enough free space for Acronis to create temporary files needed to create a snapshot of the data to be backed up. This Acronis KB article explains how this works, and how you can make more space available - http://kb.acronis.com/content/8032

SOLUTION

As described in the Acronis article, you may resolve the issue by increasing the size of the temporary file relative to free disk space, or by moving the temporary file to another partition with more free space. Please be aware that if you increase relative size, the backup will consume more temp file space during the backup and may impact performance of other running applications.

If you still encounter issues, please gather the following information and submit to Kaseya support: -
  1. Acronis log of failed backup (go to Backup > Backup Sets > click on 'failed' hyper-link in results column)
  2. expected size of backup
  3. amount of free space on partition where the temp file is located
  4. details of registry values mentioned in the Acronis article
  5. Acronis Info tool output from Backup client

FURTHER INFORMATION

To access the Acronis log for a backup taken with Kaseya Backup, go to Backup tab > Backup Sets function and click the success/failed link in the "Result" column.

APPLIES TO

  • Kaseya Backup (all versions)
  • Acronis TrueImage Server (all versions)
  • Acronis Backup and Recovery (all versions)
