Question:
I recently applied a policy to a organization but the policy isn't applying.
Answer:
Policies applied at the group and machine level hold precedence over machines applied at the Global level.
For policy management, policies that are applied at the top most level do not hold precedence over policies applied at the lower level.
Here is the order of Policy Management precedence.
Machine Level > Group Level > Organization Level > Global level.
A policy applied at the machine level will hold precedence over policies at the Group level.
A policy applied at the group level will hold precedence over policies applied at the Organization Level.
A policy applied at the Organization Level will hold precedence over policies applied at the Global Level. Global Level policies hold precedence over nothing.
If you have a Patch Scan applied within a policy at the Global Level and a patch scan applied to a policy at the group level, the policy at the group level will be applied to the machine because of the precedence it has over the policy applied at the Global Level.
