Remote Control CPU utilization on agent machine

SYMPTOMS

When remote controlling an agent using Kaseya Remote Control (KRC), the host process (KaseyaRemoteControlHost.exe) consumes a significant amount of CPU resource.

CAUSE

"Typical" CPU consumption by the host service is between 10 and 25%.

Higher utilization may be encountered under one or more of the following conditions : -

- the agent machine has limited CPU resource

- the agent machine has a very high screen resolution

- an application is being used with rich graphics and/or rapid screen changes (including video or animations, for example)

SOLUTION

Kaseya Remote Control does not have any functionality to reduce or "throttle" CPU usage.

If video performance (screen refresh rate) within the remote control session is poor when connecting to certain agents, click here for more information.

APPLIES TO

Kaseya VSA (v7.0 and above)
