Why can't I access Spanning Backup for Salesforce?

If you have followed all of the Spanning Backup for Salesforce instructions (found here), but are still unable to access Spanning when navigating to it in your Salesforce environment, it is possible that there is a security setting either in your network's firewall or Salesforce configurations that are preventing access to Spanning.  To test if this is happening, follow these steps:

1. Open a new Google Chrome browser window, in Incognito Mode, so that no previous browser history or logins are cached.

2. If you plan on installing Spanning into the US data center, navigate to https://burn.spanningbackup.com.  If you plan on installing Spanning into the EU data center, navigate to https://bs-d-p-wlb.spanningbackup.com. This should produce the following error below, from Spanning:

3. Navigate to https://bs-a-p-blb.spanningbackup.com/. This should produce the following error below, from Salesforce:

Since Spanning is built within the Salesforce application, receiving the above errors when navigating directly to these URLs is expected.  If you don't receive these errors, this means that there is a security setting in either your network's Firewall or your Salesforce configurations that is preventing you from accessing Spanning.

If this happens, consult your network administrator to see if there are any firewall limitations in your network.  If there are no firewall limitations, please contact support@spanning.com to help diagnose the security settings in your Salesforce environment that are preventing access to Spanning.
