Troubleshooting: Data Gathering Engine component does not start

PROBLEM:

Data Gathering Engine (DGE) component does not start

CAUSE:

Name associated with the DGE or DGE Extension (DGEX) is incorrect. The error usually may be that the name of the DGE specified at the time of install may be different than the one specified on the Superuser --> DGE Mgmt page (when logged in as superuser).

RESOLUTION:

The name attributed to the DGE at the time of install may be reviewed in the file TRAVERSE_HOME\etc\dge.xml. Look for the entry:

<dge name="AppropriateNameForTheDGEExtension"

In the example above, the name is AppropriateNameForTheDGEExtension. Your name will be different, but it must match exactly the spelling and the case as it is displayed under the Superuser --> DGE Mgmt page.

APPLIES TO:

All versions of Traverse

REFERENCE:

None
