How to alert when a test value if too high or too low

To configure a test which will alert on both high and low values proceed as follows; (refer to screenshot below)

  • create or edit the relevant test
  • change 'as test value rises severity' to bidirectional
  • for a warning threshold, enter '20,85'
  • for a critical threshold, enter '10,95'
  • click on submit

In the example provided, when the value of the test is 10 or less than 10 or 95 or greater than 95, the test will be considered Critical.

When the value of the test is 20 or between 20 and 10, or 85 or between 85 and 95, the test will be considered Warning

When the value of the test is between more than 20 and less than 85, the test will be considered OK.

The values 10, 20, 85 and 95 are for illustrative purposes and must be set as appropriate for your test.
