Solution:

As indicated in the Malwarebytes install logs, this may be attributed to a Microsoft issue on that endpoint. It has been recommended by Malwarebytes Support to run the article fix as outlined in the Microsoft article below:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/886549

https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/106442-cannot-install-malwarebytes/

If those machines are running Windows 8 or above, please follow the steps below:

1.Click on “Start-Run, type “regedit” (without the quotes)
2. Back up the registry
3.Navigate to this registry path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Software --> Microsoft --> Windows --> Current Version --> Explorer --> User Shell Folders

4.Clear the key: Recent (right mouse click on the key/folder, choose “Delete”)

5. Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer.

6. Try another installation.
