· QUESTION
A machine is scheduled for "Automatic Update" or "Initial Update" under Patch Mgmt. The Initial Update status reported as "Started" but no patch install scripts are run. Or the machine with Automatic Update scheduled does not have any patch updates scheduled at the expected time.
· ANSWER
There is a Patch Status test pending. Automatic Updates and Initial Updates check for this before installing any patches.
Wait for the Patch Status test to complete, and the update will start automatically.
If it has been pending for a long time (more than 30 minutes) and the machine is on-line, take the following steps:
1) cancel the scheduled Initial / Automatic Update
2) cancel and re-submit the Patch Status test
3) if the test completes this time and is "passed", re-schedule the Initial or Automatic Update
