Traverse: Debugging Windows Installer issues

PROBLEM:

When installing/upgrading Traverse the installation/upgrade does not complete or completes with errors.

This article is designed to assist any installation issue enabling debug

SOLUTION:

  • Determine the Windows Directory (c:\Windows typically)

run: C:\Program Files (x86)\systeminfo

  • Create a file ia_debug.2 under the Windows directory

  • Run the installer and you will see debug windows coming up, just click "Ok" to move forward,

The Installer logs it's files at a path something like:

 

C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Temp\2\I1398780313\Windows\89899f56145adce397b.details
