How can I restore from a vault for testing or auditing purposes?

SUMMARY

This article discusses how data can be restored from a vault for audit or testing purposes for systems that are utilizing legacy vaulting.

ISSUE

Files and directories from file-level backups can be restored from a vault.  Since this data is typically transferred over slow WAN connections, this tool is designed for auditing and testing purposes.

Resolution

1. From the user interface, navigate to Replication – Vaulting – Granular Restore.
2. Choose the file-level backup from which you wish to restore.
3. Use the arrow to the left of the volume you wish to restore from and select the individual files or directories you wish to restore.
