How to execute an image-based bare metal restore to a different client

SUMMARY

This article explains how to make the necessary changes to run an image-based bare metal restore to a different IP address.

ISSUE

This article applies to the following:

• This article applies only to image-based bare metal recovery.  To use a different IP address when executing an integrated bare metal recovery (release 7.4 or higher), you can simply assign the destination machine a different IP address when setting up the local environment for the recovery.  For details, see Windows integrated bare metal recovery in the Unitrends Administrator's Guide.
• Unitrends backup appliance software version 6.2 and later

To execute an image-based bare metal restore using a different IP address:

1. Change the IP address of the client on the Unitrends appliance to the new address
2. Change the IP address on the bare metal cd (please also uncheck the default (old ip address)). The address has to be correct on both sides in  order to communicate properly.
