All Microsoft 365 global admins in your tenant are automatically given admin status to Spanning Backup for Microsoft 365, and this role cannot be removed.
Admins can also assign admin status to users who are not global admins through the "Settings" page in Spanning Backup for Microsoft 365. Note that all additions and removals of Spanning admins are tracked in the activity log.
