Important
Only ONE default contact from Autotask can sync as the primary into ConnectBooster.
You can add more contacts to receive the same notifications later (manual step at the end).
Set the Default Billing Contact in Autotask
1. Find the Client in Autotask
Log into Autotask.
Search for the client (example: “Steve W - CB Test”).
Click the client name to open the Company/Client record.
2. Open the Contacts List
Inside the client record, click Details.
Select Contacts to view all associated contacts.
3. Open the Correct Contact
Find the contact you want as the default (example: Steve W).
Click their name to open their contact record.
4. Mark as Main Billing Contact
Edit the contact.
Enable “Main Billing Contact”.
This tells ConnectBooster who the primary synced contact should be.
5. Temporarily Enable Client Portal
This step is just to force the email to populate correctly.
Still inside the contact record, locate Client Portal Access.
Turn it ON.
Click Save.
6. Turn Client Portal Back Off
Edit the contact again.
Turn Client Portal Access OFF.
Click Save.
Make sure the Username field now shows the email address.
That’s the key piece ConnectBooster needs.
Sync the Contact to ConnectBooster
7. Resync Contacts
Go back to the Client/Company record.
Click Resync Contacts.
8. Confirm Default Contact
After syncing, verify:
The contact (example: steve.w@test.com) appears as the Primary Contact

These contacts are not the default but will get the same notices.

Open the contact you want to add.
10. Enable Notifications
Inside their contact card, click the Notifications icon.

Video Transcript:
In this video, we'll be going over how to set up a default contact using information from within Autotask so that it pulls over into ConnectBooster.
One important thing to note is that only one default contact from Autotask can be pulled at a time.
However, additional contacts can be set up to use the default notifications that are sent. This is done manually and we'll cover that at the end of the video.
To get started, we'll first use this example listed as Steve w dash c b test and locate it within auto task.
Clicking on this will allow us to access the client record.
From there, we'll click on details, which will give us the option to view the contacts.
In this case, we'll want to update the contact to Steve w. We'll click on Steve w, which will open their contact record where we can make the necessary edits.
Specifically, we'll want to enable the main billing contact option.
Lastly, we'll briefly enable the client portal option so that the email address populates underneath the username. Here, you'll simply click to enable the option and then save.
After that, we'll edit the contact one more time and deselect the client portal option.
The key thing we want to confirm is that the username has been populated.
Once that's been completed, we can return to the client record and click on resync contacts. This will update to show that individual. As you can see here, it now lists steve dot w at test dot com as the primary contact. Under the contacts section, we can also see that they're listed as the default with notifications enabled.
If we want additional individuals to receive the same notifications, we can do that by opening their contact card and selecting the notifications icon.
Once that's enabled, if we refresh the page, we'll see that the additional contact is now listed as well. To disable this, simply click the x and that contact will be removed.
