March 5, 2021 -
We have recently discovered two issues with 9.5.4. The issues affect Live Connect and Domain Watch.
As a result, we are placing the 9.5.4 release on hold for On-Premise customers, and anticipate making a new release available for download sometime next week. For SaaS customers, we anticipate deployment of the fixes by tomorrow (Saturday) 3/6/2021.
Regarding the Live Connect issue:
- This issue affects the ability of the web browser to launch the Live Connect application, due to a change in the URL Handler. VSA 9.5.4 uses a new Live Connect URL Handler. The fix is an updated Live Connect package that accepts both the previous and new URL Handlers.
- For On-Premise customers who have already updated to VSA 9.5.4, support will have the fix available, once it has been finalized.
- For SaaS customers, we will apply a fix directly.
- Once the fix has been applied to your VSA, you will need to uninstall and reinstall Live Connect, including any source machines that have recently updated to the 9.5.4 version of Live Connect. The indicator for requiring re-installation of Live Connect will be a failed launch of the Live Connect application when attempted from VSA, or from an integrated product.
Regarding the Domain Watch issue:
- This issue results in Domain Watch harvesting failing in some AD environments with an XML parsing error, where special characters like '&' are used.
- For On-Premise customers who have already updated to VSA 9.5.4, support will have the fix available, once it has been finalized.
- For SaaS customers, we will apply a fix directly.
- Once the fix has been applied to your VSA, the next Domain Watch harvest should complete successfully.
We will update this KB as changes develop. The next update to occur no later than end-of-day (Monday) 3/8/2021 - Eastern Time.
