A Protected Asset is a node that has been added to the Protected Assets tab on the Unitrends Appliance, to back up or recovery to. Check the Compatibility and Interoperability Matrix to ensure the node you want to add, is supported.

The icon next to each node and detected subcomponents, is a symbol of what kind of backup and restore types are supported.
When adding a Protected Asset, the Asset Name you give, also serves as its Hostname.
The Asset Name (aka Hostname) must be between 1 and 63 characters long and can contain alphanumeric characters, underscore, or hyphen. You will be reminded of this if the chosen name does not meet the requirements when saving.
