CVE-1999-0505: Microsoft Windows SMB Guest Account User Access

A guest user can access an SMB share

Microsoft Windows SMB Guest Account User Access

A Windows NT domain user or administrator account has a guessable password.

The remote host is running one of the Microsoft Windows operating systems or the SAMBA daemon. It was possible to log into it as a guest user using a random account.

Unitrends Risk Assessment: None.

On Unitrends only the public share allows guest access and the configuration only exposes one public /backups/samba share which is usually empty, rather than exposing all disks as would be the case for Windows servers.
