Release Notes for Recovery Series and Unitrends Backup 9.2
DESCRIPTION
This document describes new features introduced in the 9.2 release for the current user interface. If you are using the legacy UI, see the Release Notes for Recovery Series and Unitrends Backup 9.2 - Legacy Interface instead. For details on customer-discovered issues that were promptly resolved in this release, see the Customer Resolved Defects KB article. For complete upgrade instructions and considerations, see the Upgrade Guide for Recovery Series and Unitrends Backup 9.2. Unitrends 9.2 builds on the success of Unitrends 9.1.1 with the following enhancements:
Ransomware Detection
Ransomware detection enables Unitrends customers to be alerted when our Recovery-Series and Unitrends Backup PBBAs detect potential Ransomware attacks. Attacks are predicted using a combination of predictive analytics and machine learning; the infrastructure being protected is monitored for anomalies that correlate with Ransomware penetration.
Distributed Enterprise Manager
The Unitrends Distributed Enterprise Manager is an advanced appliance management tool that operates parallel to Unitrends' standard appliance management feature. For enterprises (such as MSPs) who are tasked with managing large numbers of Unitrends Backup and Recovery Series appliances, the Distributed Enterprise Manager offers simplified central management and near-limitless scalability.
Self-Service Role-Based Access Control
Self-Service Role-Based Access Control simplifies IT department management through adjustable user access at the appliance, asset, and task levels.
Windows Server 2016
Unitrends Backup and Recovery Series appliances can now protect the latest Windows Server 2016 systems.
Hyper-V 2016
This release supports host-level protection of VMs that reside on Windows Server 2016 and Hyper-V Server 2016 platforms.
User Interface
For easy recovery of agent-based backups, available target directories can now be browsed in a drop-down menu.
