Symptoms / Description

SQL Full backups are successful, but transaction log backups fail;

Windows Event ID 263 from source “Unitrends Agent” with summary (id 3340)    session completes. Failed to send summary. Error returned 0xffffffff;

The WBPS log on the client, c:/PCBP/Logs.dir, shows the following message:

ERROR!!! Backup was taken outside of Unitrends SQL Agent, or agent can not validate sql checkpoints for differential and transactional backups.

RESOLUTION

Disable maintenance plans, and re-run a new SQL full of the database in question, or

Switch both the maintenance plans and the DPU backups to do SQL Fulls only.

CAUSE

A maintenance plan or another backup product did a backup of this SQL database in between our last full backup and this one.
