SUMMARY

Inventory sync failing stating Hyper-V VSS not enabled on Hyper-V host
WBPS logs show <Error> Unable to find Microsoft Hyper-V VSS Writer. Verify that Hyper-V services are running on the client server.

RESOLUTION
Found Hyper-V writers not showing on run of vssadmin list writers
Restarted Hyper-V services per MS KB

To restart the service from Hyper-V Manager Open Hyper-V Manager. Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Hyper-V Manager. In the navigation pane, click the name of the server if it's not already selected. In the Actions pane, click Start Service.
Once services restarted writer is now present and inventory sync completing
