Release Notes for Recovery Series, Recovery Max, ION/ION+, and Unitrends Backup 10.8.0

This document describes enhancements and fixes introduced in the 10.8.0 release. For upgrade instructions and considerations, reference the Upgrade Guide for Recovery Series, Recovery MAX, ION/ION+, and Unitrends Backup.

  • Rebooting the Unitrends appliance is recommended upon upgrading to this release.
  • Beginning in release 10.7.10, updates to backup and backup copy components require access to Before upgrading your appliance, open port 443 outbound from the Unitrends appliance to for the HTTPS protocol.

Windows agent

This release includes an updated Windows agent. The 10.8.0 agent is recommended for most 64-bit Windows assets.


The table below lists fixes included in this release. 

Component   Fix
  • Fixed an issue that prevented inventory sync from completing successfully.
  • Fixed an issue where appliance updates could not be installed after an unclean shutdown.
  • Fixed a networking issue encountered upon modifying network settings without specifying a
    DNS Search domain.
  • Improved storage management for rebooted appliances
Cold backup copy
  • Fixed an issue with mounting a third-party cloud bucket or container.
  • Addressed a size limitation with some third-party cloud providers that blocked large backup
    copies (e.g., copies over 5 TB).
  • Fixed an issue with importing a large cold copy from a NAS target.

    This issue was fixed in release 10.7.10.

  • Fixed an issue that prevented UniView from displaying the appliance's Helix status (status displayed as Unavailable in UniView).
  • The Storage report now works as expected for user accounts with the Monitor role.
