ISSUE
How to tell what version of the Windows Agent is installed?
RESOLUTION
Follow the instructions listed in the Tasks section below to locate the version of the Client Agent installed.
If you are having difficulty getting the version of the product (not listed in the Protected Assets page), then this means that communications is being disrupted between the computer you are protecting and Unitrends appliance. Please allow bidirectional communication for TCP ports 1743 and 1745 at the minimum between the computer you are protecting and Unitrends appliance.
You are most likely also having difficulty installing the Client Agent remotely. If you are protecting Windows 2008 and newer, Microsoft hardened the OS to limit who and what is allowed to remotely install software remotely. You will need to allow the Unitrends Client Agent and the Unitrends Server the authority to install software remotely to be able to deploy it remotely. For simplicity, you can download the latest agent (v10.0.0-3) and install it on those systems. You can then add them to the Unitrends system (uncheck the option to Install Agent Windows Only) or re-save the entry if it already exists in the Protected Assets page.
