SQL 2005 on Windows 2008, 2008R2, or Windows 7 differential failure contain error: a current database backup does not exist

SUMMARY

Resolve issues with SQL 2005 differential backups.

ISSUE

Backup report or application schedule report message as follows:
----- Error Messages ----- 
Cannot perform a differential backup for database namedb, because a
current database backup does not exist. Perform a full database backup by
reissuing BACKUP DATABASE, omitting the WITH DIFFERENTIAL option.
BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

RESOLUTION

 Update SQL Server 2005 with Service Pack 3, click the link below and download the files most appropriate for you.

CAUSE

Operation may break the differential backup chain of a SQL Server database and
may invalidate the differential backups when you perform a snapshot backup of
the database http://support.microsoft.com/kb/903643

try to create a differential database backup in SQL Server 2005
