SUMMARY
Before you can begin storing copies of backups in the cloud, you must have an account with one of the supported cloud storage providers. This article identifies supported cloud providers, explains how to create an account with them, and specifies requirements and considerations for using cloud storage.

Before you can begin storing backup copies in the cloud, you must create an account with one of the following supported cloud storage providers:
- Google Cloud Storage Standard
- Google Cloud Storage Nearline
- Amazon S3
Creating a Google Cloud Storage Standard or Google Cloud Storage Nearline account
Google Cloud Storage Standard and Google Cloud Storage Nearline are online storage services offered by Google. - Access Key
- Secret
These credentials are different from the username and password used to access your Google storage account. You can locate your credentials using the Google Storage key management tool, which you can access from the legacy API menu titled “Interoperable Storage Access Keys.” See https://code.google.com/apis/console/#:storage:legacy. If you cannot locate your credentials, contact your storage provider. Unitrends does not have access to this information.
Creating an Amazon storage account
Amazon S3 is the online storage service offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). To use Amazon S3, you must sign up for an AWS account. For details about Amazon S3 and instructions for creating an AWS account, see Amazon’s documentation at http://aws.amazon.com/s3/.
Note: Amazon’s Reduced Redundancy Storage (RRS) option is not supported.
