How to Read Logs: Log.txt

Log.txt starts with a version. For example 
 

4.4.2196.2196|2023-05-30T13:32:47.855-04|INFO|AgentEngine: ? OS  Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.19044|{  }


4.4.2196.2196 refers to the CAG version. You can confirm which release this is by searching "CAG Version 2196" in Jira or Homepool and that should show you the Update that corresponds with that version.

Service Level (level which tells you what service line this is, examples below: (Items that are in bold are the service)

AgentEngine: This is the agent providing some computer information and stating connection to the platform.

 

CsControlConnection: Reporting on communication to the platform (also stats method)

 

DeviceId: This lets you know the device ID

 

Update: This is is telling you that the agent is looking for an update and is also telling you where it is getting the update from. (note it confirms up what the latest version of the agent is.)

 

MonitoringAgentHandler: checks for agent updates - checks on KBs that are installed (states OS requirements for this) and states if there is an update available

 

ControlActionProcessor: This from i can see is to start the "get policy" action

 

Policy: This provides policy information / agent policy settings

 

UltraVnc: This provides information on where the Ultra VNC update is coming from

 

TlsSupport: This states the TLS version for the cag service to run

 

UIBrandManager: This states if there is a branding update or not

 

GuiService: When selecting a button in the agent browser a connection is made to the gui service

 

Software: This fetches components for jobs and processes updates

 

CagRelayLink: Need to confirm!!! - in the logs I am seeing I see that a direct connection is attempted and then a reply is responded to or not
