Patch Management: Feature Patches "Successful" But O/S is Out Of Date

  • Check which updates are being deployed "successfully" - most commonly this happens when it's a feature update for a Windows release that does not have an enablement package. See the "eKB" arrows below.
    • Only Windows 10 feature updates, feature updates to 23H2 (from 22H2), and feature updates to 25H2 (from 24H2) will work.
    • Updates to 21H2 (from Win 10), 22H2 (from 21H2), or 24H2 (from 23 H2) will not work in patch management because there is no enablement package
  • If the patch was installed "successfully" but it was one of the red packages, this is expected behavior and they should use components to update to that release instead.
