What early access means:
Early access gives every customer access to the new video engine while the remaining work is completed. Sessions run on production infrastructure and are fully supported, but Web Remote 2.0 does not yet support all the features available in the existing Web Remote experience. If you need a capability listed below, start the session with Control Screen instead of Web Remote 2.0. This returns you to the standard Web Remote experience.
Available in this release
The following functions are available in the current release of Web Remote 2.0:
- Screen streaming, mouse and keyboard control on Windows devices.
- Multiple monitors and minimap.
- File transfer and display controls.
- Privacy Mode.
- Session preferences, including View Only Mode, Block Remote Input, Blank Desktop, and Lock After Disconnect.
- Connection metrics.
- Chat within an active session.
- PowerShell from the session selection page.
- Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox support.
Not yet available
The following functions are planned for upcoming releases:
- macOS device support: Web Remote 2.0 currently supports Windows targets only. Use the existing Web Remote experience for Mac.
- Clipboard copy and paste: While the Send Clipboard as Keystrokes function is available in Web Remote 2.0 to paste text to the remote device, use the existing Web Remote experience if you need to copy text from a remote device.
- On-screen keyboard.
- Performance metrics: The panel is visible but does not yet populate.
- Chat from the session selection page: Chat within an active session is available.
Reporting issues
If you run into a problem, switch to the existing Web Remote experience to finish your session, then submit a Kaseya Helpdesk request with the affected device and the approximate session time so out team can trace it.
