Password Manager User Reports

Conditions of Reports

These are the items that we can display a report for in Report Manager.

  1. What Passwords can a user see.
  2. What Passwords has a user seen.
  3. What Passwords does a user still know.
  4. What has a user been doing lately.

Report Conditions

  • What Passwords can a user see. These are Passwords that the user currently has permissions to be able to view. They have at least Read access to these Password records.
Note: This does not indicate that user has actually revealed the password, they simply have the ability to see it.
  • What Passwords has a user seen. These are Passwords that the user currently has permissions to view. The user has "Revealed" or "edited" the Password record. The user should be considered to have full knowledge of the working password.
Note: They had Read access to these Password records, this might have since changed.
Note: User may no longer know the password as the password record might have completed synchronization and automated rotation if it was enabled.
  • What Passwords does a user still know. These are Passwords that the user currently knows. This means the user has "Revealed" or edited the Password record. The user should be considered to have full knowledge of this working password.
Note: The user had Read access to these Password records, this might have since changed.
Note: This means this password record might not have completed synchronization and automated rotation if it was enabled.
  • What has a user been doing lately. These are the actions taken in the Password Manager. This could include Reading/Creating/Editing/Deleting Password records. This will also show if a user Views/Edits/Modifies/Deletes Vaults.
Note:  Actions completed are based on the individual Vault permissions or Role assigned.

Scenario 1

User reveals the password on Monday. They have "Seen" that password.

The password record uses synchronization to automate the rotation of the password on Tuesday.

The user no longer knows the password on Wednesday.

Scenario 2

User revealed a password.

Report is run and we will see something like this.
