Step-by-step: Manually approving patches
Follow these steps to find, approve, and verify patches so they can be run.
Open Datto RMM and go to the left-hand panel.
Click Policies.
In the Policies area, click Patch Management.
A list of available patch policies will appear.
From the list, click the policy you want to manage.
The policy’s patch details will load.
Scroll down to the Available Patches list.
This section shows patches that exist but are not yet approved to run.
Understand the state: patches shown here are not ready to run.
You must manually approve any patch you want to move to the Approved section.
Select the patch you want to approve.
Click once to highlight or check the box next to the patch (depending on the UI).
Click the Approve button to manually approve the selected patch.
The patch will be moved from Available to Approved.
Confirm approval: look at the Approved section.
A badge or number should appear next to Approved (for example, “1”) showing how many patches are ready.
Click the Approved section to verify the correct patch is listed and ready to run.
Double-check patch name, version, and any other details before proceeding with deployment.

Begin by selecting policies from the Datto RMM left hand panel, then select patch management. You will see a list of available policies. Select the policy you would like to manage.
Scroll down to see the list of available patches for manual approval.
These are not yet patches that are ready to be run. You must manually approve these patches and move them to the approved section before they will be run.
Select a patch and click the approve button to manual approve this patch and move it to the approved section.
You will see the approved section now has a one next to it, indicating there is one patch ready to be run. Click on the approved section to verify that the correct patch is ready to be run.
