Initiative & Recommendation Templates

This article will cover the creation and application of Initiative and Recommendation templates in the Strategic Roadmap. These templates can then be used across your entire client base.

Creating an Initiative Template

  1. Go to the Strategic Roadmap menu in the top right-hand corner of the page
  2. Under More options choose Templates
  3. Click on Initiatives and select + Initiative Template
  4. Fill out the initiative name, choose a color, enter a brief description and then click Create

Note: Previously created initiatives cannot be turned into templates.

Note: The term 'Clients' are now referred to as 'Organizations' throughout the software.

Creating a Recommendation Template

There are two ways to create a recommendation template. You can use the same process above or you can create a template from a previously created recommendation.

Template Menu

  1. Go to the Strategic Roadmap menu in the top right-hand corner of the page
  2. Under More options choose Templates
  3. Click on Recommendations and select + Recommendation Template
  4. Fill out the recommendations name, a brief description, the type of recommendation (project or T&M, etc.) an estimate of the number of hours that recommendation will need to be implemented, an estimated budget, and then click create

Note: The term 'Clients' are now referred to as 'Organizations' throughout the software.

Previously Created Recommendation

  1. On the strategic roadmap click on a recommendation in the timeline
  2. Click the 3 vertical dots in the top right-hand corner of the popup
  3. Choose Create Template

You will receive a notification at the bottom of the screen when the process is successful.

Using Templates

Initiative Templates

When creating a new initiative you will have the option to use an initiative template.

  1. Click the menu icon to show the strategic details panel
  2. Under Initiatives click the + symbol to create a new initiative
  3. Under Template Library choose the template you wish to add for the client
  4. Click Create

Recommendation Templates

When creating a new Recommendation you will be able to choose from the list of Recommendation templates. Click on the + symbol located at the top of any quarter and then from the Template library click the one you want and click Select. You will be taken to the Create Recommendation screen where you will apply an Initiative, a budget month, and that recommendation's priority.

Please note that any changes here will NOT be applied back to the template.
