This article provides step-by-step instructions for setting up the ConnectWise integrator.
Please note: You must create a new API Member and then generate the Public and Private keys. You cannot use an existing API Member.
The integration with ConnectWise allows you to create tickets in your PSA tool in one of two ways. First, you can create tickets for the review in its entirety a method used to track the total time a review was open. Next, you can create a ticket for individual questions from within the review. These tickets can be sent to a dedicated board.
myITprocess supports ConnectWise's REST API. This change involves creating a new API key from an API Member to obtain both Public and Private keys.
In order for myITprocess to identify the client for which tickets are being created, an API Key from a member must be used or a new member needs to be created. Then, that public and private key information are needed for our integration.
The permissions associated with the role for that member must have at least all Service Tickets access.
And then Inquiry Level for the following in Companies.
Go to System → Members and select the API Members tab. Configure a new account that has permissions as described above. Otherwise, click on an existing member and then go to the API Keys tab and click the plus symbol. Provide a Description for this API Key and then click the save icon. This will display the Private Key. Please note: The Private Key is only available at the time the key is created. Copy that information for use later during the integrator setup. Also, you must select the board to which tickets will get sent by clicking on that API Member, scrolling to Service Defaults, and then selecting the board from the Default Board menu.
Login to myITprocess and go to your account (avatar) menu and select Organization settings and click the Integrations tab and click Add connection:
Select ConnectWise and then click the Next button:
Provide the following information:
|Company URL||The web address of your PSA - <https://na.myconnectwise.net/|
|Company name||Your company name in your ConnectWise instance|
|Public Key||The public key generated by ConnectWise. This will always be visible for that API Key|
|Private Key||This is only available at the time of creating the key. Please make note of this private key|
After you enter your information click the Connect button and then begin mapping your clients in myITprocess (left column) to those in your ConnectWise (right column).
Note: You must add your clients into myITprocess first and add their client template before you can associate them with your clients in ConnectWise. Click the Save button and then you'll be directed back to the Organization settings, Details tab.
