Import/Export Standards Library

This article will go over how to import and export local copies of the Standards Library.

In order to import standards, you must first export your current standards library and then add new rows to your exported template. New items do not require the ID field to be filled in. No modifications to the exported template can be made.

Export

To export, a copy of your Standards Library click the three vertical dots in the top right-hand corner and select Export template. A popup will appear allowing you to export a copy of the standards Library as an Excel file.

Note: Standards that you have added via myITemplates that contain the myITprocess logo will not be exported.

Please follow the following guidelines before making changes to the export

  • Follow the example structure in the exported sheet
  • Do not alter the default font or delete any exported data
  • Questions cannot be placed directly under a Section; they must be placed under a category
  • When adding new rows please leave the ID field blank. Entering information into this field will cause errors during import
  • The Question Name field cannot be longer than 100 characters
  • The Question Text field cannot be longer than 1000 characters
  • If you copy and paste exported rows, remember to clear the ID field for the new rows (you must keep the ID column)
  • Please note:
    • Changes to existing rows will cause errors during import. However, you can "insert" new rows within already existing Sections and input your own Categories and Questions
    • You must enter Yes or No in the column labeled 'Is Optional' for the new Section or Category you entered (not each individual question). Marking a Section or Category Optional (selecting Yes on your spreadsheet) will make that Section or Category hidden on client templates
    • You must enter Yes or No in the column labeled 'Archived' for any new Sections, Categories or Questions

Import

To import a file with modifications click the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner of the screen and select Import template. A popup will appear allowing you to drag and drop your file to enable the import or browse your computer to locate your Excel file. Once the import is finished you will see any new sections you've imported appear below your original sections.
