Description
If you’re backing up a Windows client with Windows Firewall enabled, you must add the Unitrends WBPS.exe and bpnetd.exe programs as exceptions to the firewall rules.
Cause
Resolution
From the Windows Control Panel, select Windows Firewall. When the program loads, select advanced options to create new rules.
Right-click on Inbound rules and select New Rule. Select Program and click Next. In the This program path field, browse to C:\PCBP\bpnetd.exe and click Open. Click Next. Click Allow the connection and click Next. Allow the rule to apply in the appropriate locations and click Next. Give the rule a name and click Finish.
Right-click on Outbound rules and select New Rule. Select Program and click Next. In the This program path field, browse to C:\PCBP\WBPS.exe and click Open. Click Next. Click Allow the connection and click Next. Allow the rule to apply in the appropriate locations and click Next. Give the rule a name and click Finish.
