Error: SQL databases not found

SUMMARY

This article provides information on how to fix the error that there are SQL databases missing.

ISSUE

Error message is received stating that no database(s) are found.

When using database management systems such as SQL Server, it is probable that additional databases will be created at some point in time.  On occasion, you may receive the message that “database not found”.  This can occur when a newly created database has not been properly presented to the Unitrends system.  To ensure that your Unitrends system communicates with your SQL Server correctly, do one (or both) of the following:

  • Click on the red and black two-headed arrow in the bottom right corner of the “Databases to Protect” window of the client backup screen.  This will refresh the window and add any newly created databases.
  • To ensure automatically that newly created databases will be protected, click in the check box labeled “Auto-include new Databases”.  This is located at the bottom left corner of the “Databases to Protect” window.  This will keep you from having to always remember to refresh the window after creating a new database on that client.
