Can I restore data from one user into another user account?

Yes, if you're a domain admin user you can.  If not, contact your domain administrator.  Watch the video below for instructions:

To restore data from one user to another:

  1. Sign into Spanning Backup for Google Workspace as a domain admin.
  2. Click the search icon.
  3. From the Viewing As list, select the user whose data you will recover.

  4. Select the backup type.
  5. Select the backup date.
  6. Check boxes to select the data you want to restore.
In this example we will restore the Assets, Auto, and Graphics folders from Adam's most recent Drive backup.
  7. Click Restore.
  8. In the Restore Settings dialog, select the domain user to which the data will be restored. Click Done.

Once the restore is complete, that data is available in the restored to user's account.

Team Drives data cannot be restored from one user to another user’s account since Team Drives data is not owned by a specific user. Team Drives data will be restored back into its source Team Drive. If a Team Drive is deleted from Drive, a new Team Drive will be created during the restore.
