AuthAnvil Password Server keeps going into "lock down" mode

Issue

You frequently find the AuthAnvil Password Server in "lock down" mode with an error that says "Audit Hash Check Failed. Collapsing Database."

Cause

The scheduler in the AuthAnvil Password Server frequently compares the audit logs against it's non-reputable hashtable to ensure log integrity. However, on slower SQL servers new log entries being entered may not yet have proper mapped hashes, causing the security check to fail.

Resolution

Upgrade to v2.5. This issue was fixed in AuthAnvil Password Server v1.7. See this Guide to upgrade to PWS v2.5.

Affects

AuthAnvil Password Server v1.3 to v1.6.0.9
