Backup your existing data by creating a backup (.pvb) file.
- Open a command window and navigate to the C:\Program Files\Scorpion Software\AuthAnvil Password Vault\Tools\BackupTool directory.
- To run the backup, run the command aapvbackup.exe with the -b flag, followed by path to the AuthAnvil Password Server’s web.config file and SQL database. i.e. aapvbackup.exe -b “C:\Program Files\Scorpion Software\AuthAnvil Password Vault\AAPV\web.config” .\AUTHANVIL
- Your pvb file is created and saved in the same directory. If the backup is successful, the tool will display a success message. If you receive an error confirm the path to the web.config file, verify that the AuthAnvil Password Vault database is accessible and run the backup again. Make sure to move this file to a safe location so that it is not overwritten.
