AuthAnvil Password Server having severe performance issues (w3wp.exe)

Issue

The machine running AuthAnvil Password Server is having sever performance issues. Looking at the Task Manager processes reveals the "w3wp.exe" process is taking up more than 1 GB of memory, slowing down any other functions on this server.

Cause

On the turn of the new year (2013) from a leap year (2012) the AuthAnvil Password Server ran into a problem generating calendar-based results for reporting data. This caused a memory leak that would continue to use more memory until it hit a limit and released some of its resources. This cycle repeats indefinitely in most cases.
