In our installation guides for AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth and the AuthAnvil 2FA Addin for Kaseya, there are notes explaining that AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth CANNOT be installed to the same IIS web site as Kaseya.
When the AuthAnvil 2FA Addin for Kaseya is installed it creates the physical path "AuthAnvil" in the Kaseya web site (local path: <Kaseya Root>\WebPages\AuthAnvil). The Kaseya Logon Agent will also install this folder path. When installing the server software for AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth a virtual directory called "AuthAnvil" is created on the target web site, which conflicts with the existing physical path for "AuthAnvil".
Because of this conflict there are 2 resolutions:
- Install AuthAnvil 2FA to an alternate website in IIS.
- Install AuthAnvil 2FA to another IIS web server.
Here is the process to create an alternate website in IIS on the Kaseya server:
Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager
Expand theserver name and then expand Sites
Right-click on Sites and select Add Web Site...
Name the new site "AuthAnvil"
Click "Select..." and set the application pool to DefaultAppPool
For the Physical Path use "C:\inetpub\wwwroot"
Bindings must be unique from other websites in IIS. For example, ifthe Default Web Siteis using the bindings *:80 and *:443 (all traffic going to ports 80 or 443 is routed to the Default Web Site) the AuthAnvil website will need to use a specific Host name / IP address on those ports (i.e. alternate.authanvil.com:80) or it must use a different port entirely. Our recommendation is to use Type: "http" with Port: "8080", or for secure communications with an SSL certificate use Type: "https" with Port: "4443"
Click OK to create the AuthAnvil web site and start it immediately.
Open a browser on this server andnavigate tohttp://localhost:8080 (this may vary depending on your binding configuration). It should load to the default IIS start page, unless you gave a different Physical Path for the web site. If the page does not load,double-check your Bindings in right-hand panel of IIS.
At this point you can install AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth to your new website. During the website step you will see your new site available in the dropdown menu.
Keep in mind that AuthAnvil may not automatically detect your alternate port numbers. You may need to configure the web pointer after the installation (default location C:\Program Files\Scorpion Software\AuthAnvil\AuthAnvilTools\AAWebConfigEditor.exe). See the AuthAnvil 2FA Install Guide for your software version to reconfigure thesesettings.
Note: For non-standard ports make sure to allow them through any necessary firewalls or other network routing devices.
Note: If using 2FA v5.5, SSO v4.5 or Password Server v2.5 or newer you will be required to have a valid SSL certificate bound to the AuthAnvil website.
