If you are a current Partner with Scorpion Software then you are able to add Managed Accounts in the Customer Portal. If you not a current Partner but are interested in becoming one please reach out to your Account Manager or email email@example.com directly.
At the end of this article is a New Customer Information Form that you must fill out and sent back to your Account Manager. They will then create the account for you and let you know so you can continue to configure the managed account.
Setting Up Partner Managed Accounts using the Customer Portal
A core feature of the Scorpion Software Customer Portal is the ability for partners to link other accounts that they manage to their own. These accounts will have their own subscription keys and tokens, but can be accessed and managed by the partner through their own Customer Portal account. The monthly subscription usage on accounts linked like this is billed against the partners account, so the partner can appropriately bill their customer, and each seat of customer subscription usage will count towards the partners seat total, so that they can take advantage of our volume discounting. Once your account has been promoted to partner status in the Customer Portal, its easy to set up linked accounts.
First, youll need to create a Link ID. Log into the Customer Portal, and click Add New Client, in the top right hand corner of the page.
Then, type in a friendly name for the client (this is the name that will show up in the client dropdown) and click Generate Link.
Give the generated value to your client and have them log into their Customer Portal account (or do this on their behalf), go into account tab, and, under Account Information, click This is a Partner Managed Account. There, they can enter in the Link ID and click Add Partner.
Once the account is linked, the partners information will show up on the customers account page, and youre good to go. Now you can fully manage this partner account simply by selecting them from the client dropdown menu in your account. This allows you to properly separate your clients subscription information and tokens from your own, while still taking advantage of our volume discounting.
