When attempting to add a user and assign them a SoftToken using the AuthAnvil Configuration Wizard, you recieve the error "Unable to add: <Username>. Invalid PIN code found when adding user."
The root cause of this issue is invalid characters in the first name field. (Usually spaces and periods). This causes the Config Wizard to fail to assign the token and leaves the token in an invalid state, causing the error the next time that you try to assign the token.
First, remove the unassigned SoftToken with the highest serial number (thats usually the one that it tries to assign), and then re-add it and re-add the user (making sure to fix the first name). If that doesnt work, then remove and re-import all unassigned SoftTokens and re-add the user (again, making sure to fix the first name).
AuthAnvil 3.5 and earlier
