Opening up the AuthAnvil Desktop SoftToken app on a Windows machine displays this error: "Decryption Error. Failed to decrypt the SoftToken secret. Please try again".
There is a cryptographic error within the SoftToken application. This can be a permissions issue (unable to reach the registry) or a sign of corrupted data.
The quickest way to repair the AuthAnvil SoftToken is to uninstall and reinstall the application. This cleans out the application data and overwrites leftover keys.
This issue should be permanently resolved by using the following release of the application.
If a SoftToken license was already activated on this token you will need to reset the serial number in order for it to be reactivated on the device.
