When running the 2FA Addin hotfix package after upgrading from Kaseya 6.2 to Kaseya 6.3, the prompt displays an error message:
Failed to apply hot fix files.
Failed to rename C:\Kaseya\Webpages\AuthAnvil\PFAAddin.xml
The hotfix is attempting to rename the PFAAddin.xml and AuthAnvil.xml files to .xml.bak extensions, but the rename is failing because of permissions or because the filename already exists.
Verify that the files do not exist. Look for the following locations:
The original XMLs have ".bak" appended to them in order to maintain the original copies in the event of any failures. If these .xml.bak files already exist then the hotfix has already completed. Otherwise, you can rename the file extensions to ".old" and try running the hotfix once more. It will regenerate the XML files and rename the existing ones.
If the hotfix still fails to run after the files have been renamed, make sure to run the hotfix as an administrator, and make sure you are running it on the local drive where Kaseya is installed rather than a network share.
