Pre-requisites:

 

To Manually install Hotfixes on your Kaseya Server:

There are three steps to this:

  1. Download hotfixes to your windows workstation with internet access
  2. Copy the hotfix.zip and latest kinstall.exe files to your Kaseya Server
  3. Install hotfixes via hotfix.zip file on your Kaseya Server

 

Part 1: On a Windows machine with internet access
  1. Open a command prompt.
    1. Go to Run
    2. Type CMD
    3. Hit Enter
  2. Go to the folder where you downloaded kinstall.exe
  3. Type kinstall.exe /Hotfix:Download (Case sensitive)
  4. You must Accept the Kaseya Eula to continue
  5. Enter your license key (If you have used this before it may be prepopulated )
    1. Hotfixes downloaded are based on the license key entered so it is important that you enter your most recent key.
  6. Set the location of the hotfix.zip file.  (Default is your desktop)
  7. Click on "Package Hotfixes"
    1. The system will go through what look like a Kaseya install and then start to download the hotfixes
    2. Hotfixes will be downloaded to c:\kaseya folder on the windows machine
    3. If you choose not to delete the c:\kaseya folder after the download, the system will only download what is missing on future attempts.
  8.  Once completed go to the location specified for the hotfix.zip file and copy the hotfix.zip file and latest kinstall.exe to the Kaseya Server

Part 2: On the Kaseya Server
  1. Open a command prompt.
    1. Go to Run
    2. Type CMD
    3. Hit Enter
  2. Go to the folder where you copied kinstall.exe
  3. Type kinstall.exe /Hotfix:Deploy (Case sensitive)
  4. You must Accept the Kaseya Eula to continue
  5. Enter the location where you copied the hotfix.zip file on the Kaseya server.
  6. Click on "Import Hotfixes"
    1. System will unzip hotfix files and start install
    2. You will see your default browser open and the system will run through each file and install those hotfixes that are missing both for the Core and Add-On's you are licensed for.
    3. This process can take some depending on system resources
    4. "Hotfix update complete" will show at the top of the browser when the system is up to date.

 

If you are interested in being able to test hotfixes and only install those hotfixes you have tested you will need to do the following:

  1. On your test Kaseya server un-check "enable automatic check every day at x" under System>Configure
  2. On your production Kaseya server un-check "enable automatic check every day at x" under System>Configure
  3. Follow Part 1 listed above
  4. Follow Part 2 with the exception that it will be done on your Test Kaseya server. 
    1. Do not delete your hotfix.zip file
  5. When you are done testing move the hotfix.zip file you used on your Test Kaseya server to your Production Kaseya server.
  6. Follow Part 2 on your production Kaseya server with the hotfix.zip file used in your Test Kaseya server.
