Question
I manually deleted installed agents from my VSA, however they end up re-appearing. What do I do from here to ensure that they are un-installed completely and do not reappear?

Answer
In some cases, this is caused by particular agent component files being deleted/missing. When this occurs, these agents are unable to uninstall themselves and these components need to be recreated.

When this happens, here is the first method to take to resolve this:

There may possibly be an issue with some of the agent uninstallation components missing and the script is successfully executed, but not all agent related files are removed and thus the agents reinstall/reappear. In this case, go ahead and first force update the symptom agent machines and then schedule the uninstallation from there.

To force update the agent, visit the Agent tab on your Kaseya Server VSA web interface and choose Upgrade Version > update Agent. On the update Agent body page, select the checkbox with the following text next to it and uncheck any other checkboxes:

Force update even if agent is at version 5.1.0.0

Then select the particular symptom agent(s) to update and choose the 'Update Agent' button towards the top of the update Agent body page. Schedule the uninstallation for these agents after the force updates complete.

If this method does not work and the agents reappear again, follow this second method:

Logon to these problematic 're-creating' agent machines remotely using a remote control protocol/application other than what Kaseya has, such as RDP, a different VNC, TeamViewer (www.teamviewer.com - will require installation on the problematic agent machines also with people there to confirm), etc...

Once this is initiated, visit Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs in the Windows OS of the machine. In this control panel, run the Kaseya Agent uninstaller.

After this uninstallation completes, in your Kaseya VSA Web Interface, visit the Agent > Install Agents > Delete page. Since you have manually uninstalled problematic agent(s), check this same agent(s) to be deleted, choose the 'Delete account now without uninstalling the agent.' radio button, and select the 'Delete Accounts' button confirming any further warnings from there.

This will ensure that these particular agent related files are removed from both the agent machines as well the Kaseya Server VSA Web Interface.
