QUESTION

How do I resolve when deploying agents from LanWatch results in the machines listed as being in 'remote install pending' and cannot be cleared?

ANSWER

The machine is not accessible from the Kaseya agent reponsible for running the LanWatch anddeploying the installation.

During the process of deploying agents’ installations via the LAN Discovery->LAN Watch->install Agents Functions, two executables are written from the KServer to the C:\temp folder of the client machine that did the LAN Watch.

Executables:

1. psexec.exe
2. Kcssetup.exe

Upon the completion of copying these components, a script executes the following commands:

c:\temp\psexec \\hostname -u "adminname" -p "password" -c -f -d "c:\temp\kcssetup.exe" > c:\temp\LANInsAipAddr.txt

Check the credentials for the client machines and make sure that remote access to the clients is not disabled

Furthermore, the network path that the above applications are looking for is \\<machinename>\admin$ so if windows file sharing is disabled on the target machines or a firewall is preventing access to this share, the executables will not be able to function; therefore, the probe machine will generate errors such as “The network path is not found”, or with a stealthed firewall, will not respond to pings.
