QUESTION

Install failed, upgrade protection period expired

 

ANSWER

If you get the following error message when upgrading KNM:

"The upgrade protection period of your license has expired, setup cancelled."

1. The license has expired and you are not allowed to install this update.

2. If you have KNM v4 installed and previously had KNM3.4 a file called settings.nxd may be present in the KNM root directory. Move or rename this file and run installer again.

Settings.nxd was the configuration file to and including KNMv3.4. In INM v4 the settings file is called settings.rds.
