User Roles are missing after upgrading to 6.2

KB#:  KKB000807

Issue

After installing the 6.2 controlled release, user roles are missing all of the core areas.  I can set access permissions to add on modules but not any of the core functions i.e. remote control, monitoring, system, etc

ANSWER

In the 6.2 version, the “Basic End User” role definition has changed.  The exposures to the major modules are no longer avail.  Only Quickview and a few of the add-ons remain for the “Basic End User” role definition type.

The "Basic End User" was intended to be license free access for the MSP's customers to access the system, specifically Service Desk. Open access for all the modules was actually a bug in versions prior to 6.2.

To correct this issue, simply change the role type for each role using it from "End User" to "VSA Admin". Of course, this may cause licensing issues, because the "End User" role type did not count against licenses, but "VSA Admin" does.
